Below are AltLife’s terms and conditions (the “T&Cs”), which govern your use of the AltLife mobile phone application (the “App”). These T&Cs constitute a binding legal agreement between users of the App (each, a “User” and collectively, “Users”) and Treadstone Limited (referred to herein by its trade name “AltLife”).
Users must be (i) at least 18 years old; and (ii) legally permitted to use the App by the laws of a User’s respective home country. Users can create an account (an “Account”) via manual registration or by using User’s Apple, Facebook or Google login details. If users create an Account using User’s Apple, Facebook or Google’s login details, users authorise AltLife to access, display and use certain information from User’s Apple, Facebook or Google accounts, as the case may be (e.g. profile pictures, relationship status, location, etc.). For more information about what information AltLife uses and how AltLife uses it, please check out AltLife’s Privacy Policy.
Content that Users will be able to access on the App falls into three types:

As User Content is unique, Users are responsible and liable for User Content and will indemnify, defend, release, and hold AltLife harmless from any claims made in connection with User Content.
Users (other than Business Users) may not display any personal contact or banking/currency transfer information on Users’ profile pages whether in relation to Users or any other person (i.e, names, addresses or postcodes, telephone numbers, email addresses, URLs, credit/debit card/PayPal/cryptowallets or other banking/currency transfer details).
If Users do choose to reveal any personal information to other users, whether via email, messaging services on or off the App, it is at User’s own risk. We encourage Users to use the same caution in disclosing details a to third parties online as under any other circumstances. As AltLife is open to the public, User Content will be visible to other users of the App instantly. Users therefore agree that any User Content may be viewed by other users and any other person visiting, participating in or who is sent a link to the App (e.g. individuals who receive a link to a user’s profile or shared content from other AltLife users).
By uploading User Content on AltLife, Users represent and warrant to us that Users have all necessary rights and licences to do so, and automatically grant AltLife a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use User Content in any way (including, without limitation, editing, copying, modifying, adapting, translating, reformatting, creating derivative works from, incorporating into other works, advertising, distributing and otherwise making available to the general public the User Content, whether in whole or in part and in any format or medium currently known or developed in the future). AltLife may assign and/or sub-license the above licence to our affiliates and successors without any further approval by Users.
AltLife has the right to remove, edit, limit or block access to any User Content at any time, and AltLife has no obligation to display or review User Content.
Content belonging to AltLife users who posted such content on the App that is stored on AltLife’s servers and displayed via the App is “Community Content”. Users do not have any rights in relation to Community Content, and Users may only use other AltLife users' personal information to the extent that Users’ use of such Community Content matches AltLife's purpose of facilitating matches and communication between and among community members.
Users may not use Community Content for commercial purposes, to spam, to harass, or to make unlawful threats. AltLife reserves the right to terminate Users’ Accounts if Users misuse Community Content.
Any other text, content, graphics, user interfaces, trademarks, logos, sounds, artwork, and other intellectual property appearing on AltLife (“AltLife Content”) are owned, controlled or licensed by AltLife and are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property law rights. All right, title and interest in and to AltLife Content remains with AltLife at all times.
AltLife grants Users a non-exclusive, limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable, licence to access and use AltLife Content, without the right to sublicense, under the following conditions:
The App may be dependent on and/or interoperate with third-party owned and/or operated platforms and services, e.g., Facebook, Instagram, etc. (each, a “Third-Party Platform”) and may require that Users be a registered member of such Third-Party Platforms and provide certain account credentials and other information in order to access the App.
By using the App, Users agree to comply with any applicable T&Cs, conditions or requirements promulgated by any provider of a Third-Party Platform (e.g., Facebook’s T&Cs, Instagram’s T&Cs, etc.) AltLife makes certain products and/or services available to users of the App in consideration of a subscription fee or other fees (“Premium Services”), including the ability to purchase products, services and enhancements, such as the ability to extend Users matches (“In-App Products”). If Users choose to use Premium Services or purchase In-App Products, Users acknowledge and agree that additional T&Cs shall apply to Users’ use of, access to and purchase of such Premium Services and In-App Products, and such additional T&Cs are incorporated herein by reference. Users shall purchase Premium Services and In-App Products through the following payment methods (each, a “Premium Payment Method”): (i) making a purchase through the Apple App Store, Google Play or other mobile or web application platforms or storefronts authorised by AltLife (each, a “Third-Party Store”); or (ii) paying with Users’ credit card, debit card, or PayPal account, which will be processed by a Third-Party processor.
Once Users have requested a Premium Service or In-App Product, Users authorise AltLife to charge Users’ chosen Premium Payment Method and Users’ payments are non-refundable. If payment is not received by AltLife from Users’ chosen Premium Payment Method, Users agree to promptly pay all amounts due upon demand by AltLife. If Users want to cancel or change Users’ Premium Payment Method at any time, Users can do so either via the subscription settings under the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or other Third-Party Store as the case may be. Users’ subscriptions to AltLife’s Premium Services will automatically renew until users decide to cancel in accordance with such T&Cs. In the event of a conflict between a Third-Party Store’s T&Cs and conditions and these T&Cs, the T&Cs and conditions of the Third-Party Store or service provider shall govern and control. Alt life is not responsible and has no liability whatsoever for goods or services Users obtain through a Third-Party Store, or other websites or web pages. It is the responsibility of Users to do whatever investigation Users feel necessary or appropriate before proceeding with any online transaction with any of these third parties.
If Users choose to purchase an In-App Product, Users will be prompted to enter details for Users’ account with the Third-Party Store users are using (e.g., Android, Apple, etc.) (“Users’ Mobile Platform Accounts”), and Users’ Mobile Platform Accounts will be charged for the Premium Service and/or In-App Product in accordance with the terms and conditions disclosed to Users at the time of purchase, as well as the general terms and conditions applicable to all other in-app purchases made through Users’ Mobile Platform Accounts (e.g., Android, Apple, etc.).
Premium Services and In-App Products may include one-time purchases as well as monthly subscriptions (e.g., a one-month subscription, three-month subscription, six-month subscription, etc.) to additional account features. At the end of the free trial period (if any), Users will be charged the price of the subscription and will continue to be charged until Users cancel Users’ subscriptions. Please note that for Premium Services and In-App Products bought on a subscription basis, Users subscription will automatically renew for the same subscription period as users initially purchased (e.g., if users bought an In-App Product on a six-month subscription, Users subscription will be automatically renewed for an additional six-months).
To avoid any charges for additional periods, users must cancel before the end of the free trial period, subscription period or renewal, as applicable, in accordance with the T&Cs and conditions of Users’ Mobile Platform Accounts and the terms and conditions of any applicable Third-Party Store. The pricing may vary due to a number of factors, including (but not limited to) promotional offers and loyalty bonuses. Please note that for Premium Services and In-App Products, Users will be billed continuously for the subscription or service until Users cancel in accordance with Users’ Mobile Platform Accounts or Users’ Premium Payment Method’s terms and conditions. In no event shall AltLife be responsible or have liability whatsoever for any payment processing errors (including card processing, identity verification, analysis and regulatory compliance) or fees or other service-related issues, including those issues that may arise from inaccurate account information, or products or goods users obtain through Users’ Mobile Platform Accounts or Third-Party Stores.
AltLife also does not guarantee that product descriptions or other content and products will be available, accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free. Descriptions and images of, and references to, products or services (including Premium Services or In-App Products) do not imply AltLife’s endorsement of such products or services. AltLife and its third-party operational service providers reserve the right, with or without prior notice, for any or no reason, to change descriptions and quantity and quality of services, to bar any User from conducting any or all transaction(s); and/or to refuse to provide any User with any service. If AltLife terminates Users’ use of or registration to the App because Users have breached these T&Cs, Users shall not be entitled to a refund of any unused portion of any fees, payments or other consideration. AltLife encourages users to review the terms and conditions of the applicable third-party payment processors, Third-Party Stores or Mobile Platform Accounts before users make any In-App Products or Premium Service purchases.
By installing, copying or otherwise using AltLife’s service or its software, the end User acknowledges that they have read and understood this End User License Agreement (“EULA”) (including those terms herein) and agree to be bound by their terms and conditions. If the User is unwilling or unable to comply with the terms of the EULA, the user is not authorized to access any third party intellectual property such as stock photos embedded in AltLife or any other proprietary or third party content obtained by AltLife or the User in connection with using AltLife (“API Content”).
The licensors of AltLife for the rights to stock photos and other API Content are the intended third-party beneficiaries of this EULA agreement.
AltLife may provide Users with emails, text messages, messages on messaging apps (e.g. WhatsApp, WeChat, etc.), push notifications, alerts and other messages related to the App and/or the AltLife services, such as other users that want to contact Users, enhancements, offers, products, events, and other promotions. After downloading the App, Users will be asked to accept or deny push notifications/alerts. If Users deny, users will not receive any push notifications/alerts. If users accept, push notifications/alerts will be automatically sent to users. If Users no longer wish to receive push notifications/alerts from the App, users may opt out by changing Users notification settings on Users mobile device. With respect to other types of messaging or communications, such as emails, text messages, etc., messages on messaging apps (e.g. WhatsApp, WeChat, etc.), Users can unsubscribe or opt out by either following the specific instructions included in such communications, or by emailing us with a User request at support@altlife.co.
The App may allow access to or make available opportunities for Users to view certain content and receive other products, services and/or other materials based on Users’ locations. To make these opportunities available to Users, the App will determine Users’ locations using one or more reference points, such as GPS, Bluetooth and/or software within Users’ mobile devices. If Users have set Users’ mobile devices to disable GPS, Bluetooth or other location determining software or do not authorise the App to access Users location data, Users will not be able to access such location-specific content, products, services and materials. ALTLIFE SERVICES AND CONTENT, INCLUDING THE APP AND ALTLIFE CONTENT OR COMMUNITY CONTENT, ARE ALL PROVIDED TO USERS "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. IF APPLICABLE LAW DOES NOT PERMIT THE FOREGOING EXCLUSION OF EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES, THEN ALTLIFE GRANTS THE MINIMUM EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, SHALL CREATE ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION OR GUARANTEE NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THIS CLAUSE. FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, ALTLIFE DOES NOT MAKE ANY WARRANTIES THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR ERROR FREE OR THAT USERS’ USE OF THE APP WILL MEET USERS’ EXPECTATIONS, OR THAT THE APP, ALTLIFE CONTENT, COMMUNITY CONTENT, OR ANY PORTION THEREOF, IS CORRECT, ACCURATE, OR RELIABLE. USERS’ USE OF THE APP IS AT USERS’ OWN RISK. USERS ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR USERS’ INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS. ALTLIFE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER. ALTLIFE DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ITS MEMBERS. NEITHER ALTLIFE NOR ANY OWNER WILL BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES, DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF DATA, INCOME, PROFIT OR GOODWILL, LOSS OF OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES ARISING OUT OF USERS’ ACCESS TO OR USE OF THE APP, ALTLIFE CONTENT, OR ANY COMMUNITY CONTENT, HOWEVER CAUSED, WHETHER BASED ON BREACH OF CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), PROPRIETARY RIGHTS INFRINGEMENT, PRODUCT LIABILITY OR OTHERWISE. THE FOREGOING SHALL APPLY EVEN IF ALTLIFE WAS ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IF A USER BECOMES DISSATISFIED IN ANY WAY WITH THE APP, USER’S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS TO STOP USER’S USE OF THE APP. USERS HEREBY WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF USERS’ USE OF THE APP. IF ANY PORTION OF THIS LIMITATION ON LIABILITY IS FOUND TO BE INVALID OR UNENFORCEABLE FOR ANY REASON, THEN ALTLIFE’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE THOUSAND HONG KONG DOLLARS (HKD1000). THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY IS A FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENT OF THE BASIS OF THE BARGAIN AND REFLECTS A FAIR ALLOCATION OF RISK. THE APP WOULD NOT BE PROVIDED WITHOUT SUCH LIMITATION AND USERS AGREE THAT THE LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS OF LIABILITY, DISCLAIMERS AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES SPECIFIED HEREIN WILL SURVIVE EVEN IF FOUND TO HAVE FAILED IN THEIR ESSENTIAL PURPOSE.
The following additional terms and conditions apply to Users if Users download the App from a Third-Party Store. To the extent that the other terms and conditions of these T&Cs are less restrictive than, or otherwise conflict with, the terms and conditions of this Clause, the more restrictive or conflicting terms and conditions in this Clause will apply, but solely with respect to the App and the Third-Party Store. Users acknowledge and agree that these T&Cs are concluded solely between Users and AltLife and not with the providers of the Third-Party Store, and AltLife (and not the Third-Party Store) is solely responsible for the App and the content thereof. To the extent that these T&Cs provide for usage rules for the App which are less restrictive or in conflict with the applicable T&Cs of service of the Third-Party Store from which Users obtain the App, the more restrictive or conflicting term of the Third-Party Store will take precedence and apply.
These T&Cs, which AltLife may amend from time to time without notice, constitute the entire agreement between Users and AltLife and supersede all previous agreements, representations and arrangements between AltLife and Users (written or oral). If AltLife makes any changes, such changes will be posted on this page and we will update the Effective Date at the bottom of the T&Cs. In certain circumstances, AltLife may send an email to Users notifying Users of a change. Users’ continued use of AltLife following any change constitutes Users acceptance of the change and Users will be legally bound by the new updated T&Cs. If Users do not accept any changes to the T&Cs, Users should stop using AltLife immediately. If, for any reason, any of the T&Cs are declared illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable by a court of a competent jurisdiction, then to the extent that term is illegal, invalid or unenforceable, it shall be severed and deleted from the T&Cs and the remainder of the T&Cs shall survive, remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable on both Users and AltLife. No failure or delay in exercising any right, power or privilege under the T&Cs shall operate as a waiver of such right or acceptance of any variation of the T&Cs and nor shall any single or partial exercise by either party of any right, power or privilege preclude any further exercise of the right or the exercise of any other right, power or privilege. By using the App, Users agree and acknowledge that AltLife is a global app operating through servers located in a number of countries around the world. If users live in a country with data protection laws, the storage of Users’ personal data may not provide Users with the same protections as users enjoy in Users’ country of residence. By submitting Users’ personal information, or by choosing to upgrade the services Users use, or by making use of the applications available on AltLife, Users agree to the transfer of Users’ personal information to, and storage and processing of Users personal information in, any such countries and destinations. These T&Cs, and any rights and licences granted hereunder, may not be transferred or assigned by Users, but may be assigned by AltLife without restriction.
Users access to the App, AltLife Content, and any Community Content, as well as these T&Cs are governed and interpreted by the laws of Hong Kong, PRC. By using the App, Users are consenting to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong. Users agree that such courts shall have in personam jurisdiction and venue and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum. Users agree that Users will not file or participate in a class action against AltLife. In the event there is a discrepancy between this English language version and any translated copies of the T&Cs, the English version shall prevail. The T&Cs were last updated on: 11 July 2020.
